Escape by Mercy
By Rev. Dr. Adesina Abegunde on July 19, 2020
As humans, we all are born by default to need help per time; either Human or Divine.
David at Ziklag while he was hiding from Saul, son of Kish experienced daily help as seen in the book of 1 Chronicles 12:22;
“For at that time they came to David day by day to help him, until it was a great army, like the army of God.”
There are times that circumstances of life put us in a fix or pit, and it looks as if those challenges are roaring at our uprising.
In those moments, we need to know and say to ourselves just like the psalmist
“God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.” Psalms 46:1 (NLT).
Do any of these describe you;
Is the journey of life slower than before?
Is there a standstill?
Is there lack of frequent testimonies?
Are the testimonies of the past greater than current testimonies?, e.t.c.
If yes, remember that Habakkuk was in that situation that look seemingly like the questions above,
he cried to God saying “I have heard all about you, Lord. I am filled with awe by your amazing works.
In this time of our deep need, help us again as you did in years gone by.
And in your anger, remember your mercy.” Habakkuk 3:2 (NLT).
